When I came out 20 years ago, I couldn’t fathom the achievements within LGBTQ+ health outcomes and our rights via policies. The Maryland Chamber was my introduction to the National Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC) conference, the most inclusive conference I ever attended and the first time my intersecting identities were represented on an international scale. As a nationally recognized Business Resource Group leader, it is an honor to serve my community in improving economic stability.

Dr. Durryle Brooks is a passionate advocate for equity, representation, and creating opportunities for all, especially within the LGBTQ+ community. I was drawn to the mission of the Maryland LGBTQ+ Foundation which is to activate, educate, and mobilize the LGBTQ+ community in accessing opportunities to generate wealth. I joined the board to contribute to advancing inclusion in business, fostering connections, and amplifying underrepresented
voices.

Sam McClure
Sam is a passionate champion of creating health equity for LGBTQ+ communities through better health care services, education, and advocacy. In her previous role as Senior Vice President of the National LGBT Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC), she led affiliate relations, external affairs, public policy and advocacy, and supplier diversity teams, as well as serving on the organization’s executive leadership team.
